This print was introduced in the mid-seventies designed for a lady’s mandarin style blouse in the Brown Sugar line. As such it did very well, but when the Judy’s apparel chain out of California suggested we make a men’s shirt out of it, the sales took off, resulting in the first print sell-out for the young firm. As that was also my company, I have elected to revive it here. Its name is derived from the cloisonné-style gold outlining as seen in black lacquer boxes common in Asia. And now Lacquer Box, as do all Kamehameha Aloha Shirts, ships FREE, worldwide!
